Welcome back to CVFC Book Club!
My apologies for the lack of blogs, life happened while I wasn't paying attention and all of a sudden it's been a month.
This month's book is "Health and Wholeness Through the Holy Communion"  by Joseph Prince
I chose this book because I think there is a misconception about Communion.  CVFC has communion the first Sunday of every month at 9am and I'm surprised by how few people show up to break bread with the Lord.  This book explains how the blood is for our forgiveness and the bread is for our healing.  In Psalms 23 verse 5 Davis tells us   "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over."  The prepared the communion table for us, He said "Do this in remembrance of me."  So my goal with this book is to see more of our church members on the first Sunday partake in the very special event of communion and enjoy it's benefits of healing and wholeness.
In the introduction of the book, Joseph Prince tells us that Holy Communion is NOT about God's judgement and we do NOT need to confess all our sins, we do NOT need to be water baptised and we do Not have to go through some sort of class to partake.  The Holy Communion is NOT a ritual to be observed but a BLESSING to be received.  It is the greatest expression of His love.  The love that made Him endure the stripes on His back so you could be healed.  Receiving Communion is an exchange of His wholeness for you sickness and disease.  And when you drink, you are reminded that the spilling of His blood was not just forgiveness but it made you forever righteous, holy and blameless.
Health ie the greatest blessing we can have while still on this earth, without it, there is no way to enjoy the blessings of God.  When Jesus walked on earth most of His miracles were healings.  Acts 10:38 " How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
Well I hope this gives you a little insight as to why we should look forward to Communion.
      Until next time,

66 Ways God Loves You (continued)

Welcome back to 66 ways God loves you.  In Numbers, God shelters me in cities of refuge.  When God divvied up the promise land, he gave the Levites 48 towns.  ^ of those towns were to be places refuge-where anyone could flee for safety.  Even though these were Hebrew cities, their gates were open to anyone who needed their safety.
Cities of refuge are a picture of God's loving shelter for ALL of us.  We can hide safely in God's love and forgiveness.  We all need a safe place where we know we are protected and welcomed.  When we run to God, He welcomes us in and He defends our honor.  He protects us and preserves us.
Jesus says, "The one who comes to me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37).   "God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.  Therefore we will not be afraid (Psalms 46:1-2).

Until next time,

66 Ways GOD Loves you

Welcome back to CVFC Book Club!  This month's book is by Jennifer Rothschild,     66 Ways GOD Loves You, Experience God"s Love for You in Every Book of the Bible.  It's a long title, but I think it's important to know, all through Biblical history, God LOVED us!  Jennifer nicely breaks down GOD'S love for us in just a couple short pages per book of the Bible.
She writes,  "In Genesis God Fashions Me with  His Hands"  In the beginning, God created with words.  The Heavens, the Earth, the trees and the animals, He spoke into existence.  But with man, He formed from the dust of the ground, he shaped man into his own image and then He breathed life into man!  He chose that we, His beloved, would have His fingerprints on us!  His loving hands reached down from heaven to touch ME and make ME His own!  And he saw all that he made and said it was very good.
In Exodus God Delivers Me from Slavery,  though the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, they were still God's chosen people and He heard their cries and God's love set about rescuing His people.  Just as God delivered His people from slavery of Egypt, He delivers you from whatever you are powerless to rescue yourself from.  (with me it was alcohol, praise God!)
God's love rescues you!  Ask Him to set you free!
           Until next time

"The Names of God" by Rose publishing, Inc.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Hallowed is honor as Holy.  Throughout scripture, God reveals himself to us through His name.  There are over 100 names used to describe God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit.  Each of these names tells us something about God's Character and holds a special message of encouragement for us today.                                                                                  In this book, we will find some of God's names, when they were used the first time and where.            On  page 11, we find the name, El Roi, the God who sees me.  I love it that God sees ME, and that He still takes care and loves me with all my faults, just as He did Hagar, the handmaid of Sarai in Genesis16:11-14kjv                                                                                                                                 11 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction.

12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

13 And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

14 Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.                        (
Beer-lahai-roi
"the well of him that liveth and seeth me," or, as some render it, "the well of the vision of life", the well where the Lord met with Hagar)                                                                                As we come to know His glorious names, our faith and confidence in Him will be strengthened.  Today we'll close with Psalms 9:10,   And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.                                                                                                                                                                 What "Names of God" speak to you?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Dawn Wier

The Authority of the Believer and How to Use it

The Authority of the Believer and how to use it
By Dr. Billye Brim
A Blog by Dawn Wier

This little book lifts three chapters from two of Billyes' other books, How You Can Pray
in the End of Days and My Call to Help the Pray-ers. This suits me just fine, let's get down to the meat of the message!

In the 1980's after the Communism fell, a Newscaster interviewing a Communist
Chinese Officer asked him, “What was the cause of the fall as you see it?”
The Officer's reply was “it was the CHRISTIANS!” (YEA!)
Years previously, Rhema Bible Training graduates passed out 3.3 million copies
of Kenneth E. Hagin's books including, The Believer's Authority, behind the Iron Curtain. (Simple little books like this are POWERFUL!)
In the Preface, Billye quotes James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not
hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
I like the New Living Translation But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what
it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
Kenneth E. Hagin asked, “Do we have authority that we don't know about – that we
haven't discovered – that we're not using?” “Is the Spirit of God trying to show me something?” He
said he began to think along these lines and study along these lines and he began to see more and more light. We as a Church have authority that we don't realize and that we're not using. We need to rise up with the authority Jesus gave us.

King James Version of the Bible uses one English word for POWER, to translate several different Greek words.
dunamis = inherent power; the power of reproducing itself.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto
the uttermost part of the earth.
exousia = authority, or delegated power; the liberty and right to put forth power.
John 1:12 but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
In Luke 10:19 both forms of the Greek word power are used,
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power [exousia] to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power [dunamis]of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Jesus delegated to them the authority to dominate Satan's cohorts.
Authority is a delegated power. (I love that!)
Jesus defeat Satan by living a sinless life, by His death, burial and resurrection. He
presented His blood to the Father as a final sacrifice then He returned to earth and told His disciples
something that applies to all believers today.
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power
[exousia] is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
Jesus delegate the authority on earth to His body of believers on earth.

Use it. Only $4 dollars! See you there! Dawn Wier
